The Max Burton 6000 Induction Cooktop is a 1800 watt portable electric cooktop that is perfect for dorm rooms and cabin. It has a large burner and a number of heat settings with a temperature capacity that ranges from 140 to 450 degrees F. You can cook anything on this portable electric stove from sauces, soft-boiled eggs to soups and stews.

It is convenient to bring around and has a detection system that prevents overheating and scorching that can damage your pots and pans. This cooktop is equipped with a 180 minute timer that reduces the risk of overcooking and burning. It is also safe to use because the unit stays cool except for the part of the stove where the pan comes in contact with the cooktop.

The Max Burton 6000 Induction Cooktop comes with a user friendly control panel with an LED display. It is compact and sturdy and won’t dance around your table top. This cooktop does not work with aluminium, copper cookware, or glass cookware but works best with magnetic stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, and other stainless steel with magnetic properties. The unit measures 14” x 12-3/5” x 2-1/2” and weighs about 8 pounds.

Pros

Many people like the light weight cooker that works like a heavy duty cooktop. Some users said that it boils water faster than a regular gas range. Families who have young children will like the safety of this cooktop. It stay cool to the touch and is relatively safe for kids around the house, especially if your children like to cook. It has no flame and the surface stays cool even when you are cooking.

The Max Burton 6000 Induction Cooktop produces no heat and when you turn it on without any cookware on top it will simply turn itself off. But if you place a pot of water on it, it will boil water quickly. A user experimented with it and dropped a paper napkin on the top after boiling some water. The paper napkin did not burn or create a fireball. It just sat there without burning. Most users like the safety of using an induction cooktop, expecially when there are children around the house.

Cons

Some users say that the unit does not cook food evenly and you have to spend time shifting food around your pan to get everything cooked evenly. A number of users also said that the top broke either in the mail during delivery or after only a couple of month of use.

Some users also complained that the unit would shut off during cooking and would not turn on again. You can only use this with limited types of cookware that are magnetic.

The most common feedback is that it arrived in the mail broken because the top is made of glass.

Generally it is a safe cooktop to use and especially safe for kids who like to cook. It can heat up quickly when needed but won’t burn your fingers if you touch the cooktop. Some say that it is also energy efficient.
