Nikon Coolpix L110 Camera review (B0034XIMG4)

The Nikon Coolpix L110 is a stylish looking 12.1 megapixel camera with a huge 15x Optical Zoom wide-angle lens, and a large, bright 3” LCD display screen at the back. Also set up for shooting up to seven hours of HD movies with stereo sound, your Nikon will cover just about any situation you may come across.

Technically, this L110 is up there with the best featuring the outstanding optics of a Nikkor lens, and also Nikon’s EXPEED digital image processing system to ensure that your photos will be treasured memories that you will look back on with pride, and will be glad to share with your family and friends.

Versatility is the key word when it comes to the choices that you can make with the fantastic Nikkor lens. It can really handle any situation from wide-angle needed for landscapes, down to the massive super-telephoto zoom for getting up close and personal with your subject, even from a distance! Amazingly, it can also cope with macro shots from as little as 1cm.

The Coolpix L110 is run on energy-efficient, long lasting Lithium AA batteries, but in case you run out of power and can't get to charge the batteries, you can also use regular AA batteries so you will never be stuck.

Designed to eliminate the blur that comes from camera shake, Nikon has equipped this L110 with loads of features, including their Image Sensor Shift, and the Electronic Vibration Reduction feature. The Motion Detection feature also automatically controls shutter speed depending on the subject you are taking. Even in low light settings, or when shooting fast moving objects, the Coolpix L110 is up to the task. It also has a Best Shot Selector mode which will take a series of photos, and select the picture with the best focus.

When it comes to taking portraits, this Nikon Coolpix is the business! It will automatically detect the faces in your shot and focus on them, it will warn you if someone blinks, it will automatically correct red-eye, and will even automatically release the shutter when it detects that your subject smiles.

Using the Easy Auto Mode will take all of the hassle of decision making out of your photographs! Simply set the Auto Mode and fire away – your L110 will make all the choices, and select the mode which best suits the scene that you are trying to capture.

Pros

According to reports by users, the Image Stabilization features really work. One person said that it takes clear, sharp photos even of kids running around.

Many people were amazed by the long battery life, and reportedly took over 1000 shots with the original Lithium batteries before they needed to be recharged!

The image quality, color and clarity were really impressive according to a lot of the reviewers. They were also pleased with the HD video capabilities, especially in outdoor settings.

Another feature that came up with top marks is the macro feature.

Cons

For people who are a little bit more used to DSLRs, the lack of manual functions was a disappointment.

Others were not impressed by the quality and overall graininess of the video, particularly in low-light settings.

Another issue that some people had was that they didn’t get the best results “out of the box”, and said that they really needed to study the user manual before getting better results. This means that it is not the most simple camera to use.

Nikon’s Coolpix L110 is a camera for all situations – whether you want to take photos or video, or whether you want a wide angle or close up shot. The 15x Optical Zoom lens is a real treat, and the numerous settings and modes will help you to take a great photo whatever the occasion.
