Nikon COOLPIX L24 Camera Review (B004M8SVB6)

As one of the best brands in quality Digital Camera production, Nikon have produced another top notch beauty as an addition to the already popular CoolPix family. This L24 features a host of amazing features, such as a 14MP image resolution, a big, bright 3 inch LCD screen and a 3.6x Optical Zoom Nikkor lens.

Despite all of the advanced features, the CoolPix L24 is still easy to use. Anyone can take great photos and video footage, and upload and share them with ease.

Choose from 16 scene modes to select the best option for your photos, or let the camera choose for you using the Easy Auto Mode. Nikon’s Smart Portrait System will enable you to take fantastic portraits of family and friends, and will warn you if your subject seems to have blinked. It will identify and focus on up to 12 faces in an individual scene, and also automatically corrects the appearance of red eye. Also featuring Nikon’s 3 way Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization System, you won’t even have to worry about blurry or shaky images which can result from hand shake or fast moving subjects.

Some things are better captured on video, and the Coolpix L24 shoots 640x480 30fps resolution video clips, which you can watch immediately on your camera’s LCD screen with anti-reflective coating, or connect to your TV or computer screen.

The camera runs on two double A batteries, and also comes with a strap, a USB cable and a Nikon View NX 2 CD-ROM.

Pros:

One reviewer was really pleased with this camera as it was easy to use, ran on double A batteries, and took good, clear pictures. He used it daily for work, and it suited him perfectly.

It was also pointed out that the image quality was very good even indoors using ambient light only and no flash which was important when looking for pictures without reflections.

Another good comment was about the image stabilization system which was said to really work well and reduce camera shake.

Cons

An issue that one person had was with the quality of indoor photos in low light. They said that compared with other cameras, the photos were not clear.

The results obtained when using the flash are said to be relatively poor; either the image is too dark (with overtones of red) or the resulting image is way too bright.

The menu is described as clumsy and the user manual is also criticised.

Get snapping with this sleek digital camera from Nikon at an affordable price. It has great scene modes to help you to take fantastic photos, a large LCD screen with anti-reflective coating to view them, and even takes high quality video clips. The Coolpix L24 is a great choice for recording precious memories.
